Humble Beginning: My 1st Gallery Exhibition

Hi there :)
I wanted to post this article to share my artistic journey as an artist. I really truly believe that all creatives continue to reinvent themselves as they grow and as life constantly throws curveballs. This is just a reminder that you are never too old to start something new.
I was thrilled and blessed beyond measure to get my first art gallery exhibition contract in my childhood Local Public Library. My work was up for 3 months. A lot of my inspiration for my to become an artist has come from children's books and stories. I remember when I was little my mom getting my first library card for me. I was so excited to journey to library to get another book and explore something new.

The one really cool thing about being an artist is customization and personality. I really wanted to control the colors and materials for my exhibit. I am deeply conscience as an artist about the environmental stewardship and finding creative ways to reuse things.
I used most of the payment to buy some fun frames from the thrift store. I decided to go with recycled ecofriendly paints and have my try at some custom matting and backing. I even painted my art tags some bright colors.

Another challenge of this exhibition was getting all my art to location without scuffing or breaking it on the public transportation. I held my breath the entire ride! Luckily the library is close. The lovely librarians were there to save the day and helped me learn how to use a very fancy hanging system (I wish I had in my house) to get everything spaced and hung perfectly.

I remember that at the time of the exhibit I got some bad news and was so overwhelmed that I didn't share the news or celebrate my victory, so now I am writing it to memorialize it. Every artist has different goals and dreams they want to achieve in their career. This one was a beautiful dream come true. I thought the end result was amazing and satisfying.
Thank you :)
